About

Ripplebrook Winery

Welcome to Ripplebrook Winery, we are a family from the Aeolian Islands producing premium wines from our vineyard in West Gippsland.

Catena left her corporate career in 2009 and purchased this 20 acres in West Gippsland. Inspired by her Italian heritage and the love for exceptional wine, she renovated an old tin shed and officially opened Giuseppe's cellar door on 4th January 2015.  Catena's background in viticulture was very little only the stories shared by her mother Angelina and father Giuseppe. Angelina's parents were large vineyard wholesalers in Vulcano back in 1910.  When you visit Vulcano today you will find fresh vineyards planted, the start of a new era.

Catena completed a viticulture course to manage the 7,000 vines.  The first vintage was 2010 and won Gold for the Chardonnay and Bronze for the Rose, she thought wow it must be a great site so why not add a wood fire oven to the cellar door and make traditional Italian pizzas.

The property has a rustic relaxed setting that overlooks the vineyard and the breathtaking views of Mt Baw Baw and the Bunyip ranges.

Our family
Giuseppe came to Australia in 1950 from Lipari in the Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily after marrying Angelina. Together, they raised and instilled his three daughters with Italian stories, traditions and delicacies.

"Giuseppes" our cellar door re-creates the cosy, warm and loving care that Giuseppe and Angelina gave to their family and we want to share that with you.

Our wine and vineyard are crafted and cared for in the same loving way our parents cared meticulously for their garden, our fruit is hand picked.
